About PRESENT SIMPLE tense

The present simple is a verb tense with two main uses. We use Present Simple to express habits, general truths, repeated actions or unchanging situations, emotions and wishes. Important!!! The 3^rd person (HE, SHE, IT) is formed by adding -s or -es to the end of the verb.

Postive/affirmative sentences - e. g.

I go to school every day.
She goes to school every day.

In the negative form of present simple, you need to use do not (don't - shorter way) or does not (doesn't - shorter way) which is used for the 3^rd person ONLY!!! (HE, SHE, IT).

Negative sentences - e. g.

I don't go to school every day.
She doesn't go to school every day.

We use do and does to make questions with the present simple tense. We use does for the third person singular (HE, SHE, IT) and do for the others, also with question words : where, what and when.

Questions - e. g.

Do you like school?
Does she like school?
When do you go to school?
